About these terms

These terms apply to your use of businesstaxcalc.co.uk and the calculators on it, including calculators embedded on other websites. The site is run by Syed Aqeeq Abbas, trading as Business Tax Calc ("we", "us"). By using the site you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.

Using the calculators

The calculators are free to use. They give estimates and general information to help you understand and plan your tax. They aren't tax, legal or financial advice, and they don't take account of everything about your situation. Before you file a return, pay tax or make a decision based on a result, check it against HMRC guidance or with a qualified accountant. Our disclaimer explains this in more detail.

You're responsible for the figures you enter. A result is only as accurate as the profit, dates and other details you give it.

Accuracy

We work hard to keep the calculators correct. Each one is tested against published worked examples and HMRC rules, and the results of those checks are shown on our methodology page. Even so, tax rules change and mistakes can happen, so we can't promise that every result is complete, accurate or up to date. If you think a result is wrong, please tell us.

Acceptable use

You may not:

• use the site in a way that breaks the law or harms other people
• try to break, overload or get unauthorised access to the site or its server
• use automated tools to copy the site or its results in bulk
• present our calculators or results as your own advice or as coming from HMRC

Embedding our calculators

You're welcome to put our calculators on your own website using the embed code we provide on each calculator page, as long as you:

• use the embed code as provided, without changing how the calculator works or looks
• keep the "Free calculator by Business Tax Calc" credit and the link back to us
• don't suggest that we endorse your business or that the calculator is your own
• don't put it on a site that is unlawful, misleading or harmful

Only the pages under /embed/ may be shown in a frame. We may change embedded calculators, or stop a site from embedding them, at any time.

Our content

The calculators, text, code, design and logo on this site belong to us. You may link to any page, share results using the Copy link button, and quote short extracts if you credit Business Tax Calc and link to the page. Please don't copy the calculators or substantial parts of the content without our written permission.

Links to other websites

We link to other websites, such as gov.uk, so you can check our sources. We aren't responsible for their content, and a link doesn't mean we endorse them.

Our liability

The site is provided free and "as is". To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site or your reliance on its results, including tax, interest or penalties you have to pay, lost profit, lost business or lost data.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that can't be limited or excluded by law. If you use the site as a consumer, these terms don't affect your legal rights.

Changes to the site and these terms

We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of the site at any time. We may also update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed, and the version on this page at the time you use the site is the one that applies.

Law and courts

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute. If you're a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
